Coffee Talk

I have some coffee beans, but no grinder. What’s the best way to make coffee with just beans. At best I can probably smash them up a bit by hand. To make the coffee I can boil water on the stovetop, but I don’t have an fancy coffeemakers either.

i used to work at at coffee shop and i don’t think it’s a good idea to use whole beans, just go to the market or any place that grinds beans or the like, then you can boil it with water and then let it settle before pouring it on your cup.

Ya kinda need a grinder. By chance do you have a neighbor or friend who’s grinder you can use? You can buy grinders for under $20. I don’t recommend pre-grinding, but that’s what needs to happen here. Store the grinds in an airtight container. There’s a battle between freezing and not freezing the grinds, but I say freeze em. The temp keeps the beans fresh.

You could grind them with a blender, or food processor, or mortar & pestle, but you aren’t going to get an even blend. Why would you buy beans, if you don’t even have a coffeepot? You can get very inexpensive coffeemakers now, that aren’t the least bit fancy (i.e. Mr. Coffee)…and get the coffee already ground (or grind it at the grocerystore)

i don’t think there is a need to grind them. just boil them in water and it should turn out fine. I think you’d get a darker and stronger coffee if you smash them though.:D
    goodluck!

keep in mind the quality of the water when brewing
