I’d like to be able to use both pods and ground coffee - I’d be making max two cups at a time, and likely to be drinking espresso and capaccino/ lattes.
I quite like the look of retro ones - but it’s not essential

Personally, if you really want the retro look then go for francisfrancis espresso maker -they really look retro.
If you want something that is within your budget and makes maximum of 2 cups, then you should go for a single serve coffee maker.
My recommendation is the Tassimo fro Braun. Not only does she brews each cup individually, the cappuccino she does, comes with froth!
