Coffee Talk

I have tried switching once before and by day 2 I got so dizzy I could barely SEE. I am obviously addicted to coffee. I’m 20 and super healthy. Eat well. Sleep well. My only addiction is caffeine and I’d like to cut down to tea but my body can’t handle it. Maybe some type of drug could help ease the transition?

cut down slower. Are you switching to herbal tea or regular tea because regular tea has caffeine too.
switch out 1 cup of coffee at a time for tea. If you drink 8 cups of coffee a day(for example), make cup number 8 tea. Do that for 2 days. then make cups number 7 and 8 tea for a couple of days, etc.
You won’t even notice it and soon you will be taking in less caffeine and your body will be fine with that.
I did that with coffee only I just cut back completely. i was drinking8-9 cups of coffee a day and started skipping the last cup, then skipping the last 2 cups and now I am down to 1 cup in the morning and that is it. I like that first cup and will keep it but I don’t drink any more than that. No headache or any other side effects.

Maybe you should try to slowly ween yourself off of it for a few weeks. Start by replacing one cup of coffee with one cup of tea every day. About 3 days later, replace another cup of coffee with a cup of tea. Keep working your way up with tea until you have completely cut the coffee out. This could take a very long time if you’re very addicted to the caffeine. If cutting out a full cup is too much for your body to handle, try going by half cup increments. Likewise, if you feel that 3 days is not enough time for your body to adjust, give it a little more time (up to a week if you need it).
