One cup a day is not harmful and might even be beneficial. The caffeine is the part you are craving and need to keep awake. Coffee also contains anti-cancer compounds (similar to dark beer and red wine). Not only that, but coffee can help you keep ‘regular’ and therefore lowers your risk of colon/rectal cancer.
If you add a ton of sugar or heavy cream to your coffee, you could be raising your chances of diabetes or high cholesterol…
good luck!

Drinking 1 cup each morning probably wont do you any harm.
Caffeine is the substance in coffee and other drinks which keeps you alert. It causes an increase in heart rate and raises blood pressure.
However, it is also a bladder irritant. You may find that when you drink a lot of coffee you need to urinate often.
Excess caffeine is certainly not good for you, but one cup a day is fine.
