Drinking coffee is not recommended during pregnancy.
Some older pregnancy books suggest that drinking 1 cup or 400 mg per day is fine, but more recent studies show that drinking even one cup per day can increase the risk of miscarriage in the first trimester. (This also includes tea, hot chocolate and cola)
It’s hard! I got terrible headaches giving up cold-turkey. I would suggest slowly decreasing the amount each day to avoid these headaches. And starting to drink a little each day in the second and third trimester is okay too.

Its not good to drink a lot of coffee when pregnant but a little is ok. For my first pregnancy I cut way back to a half cup in the am. My second pregnancy the smell of coffee made me ill so the point was moot. If coffee is the only source of caffeine a little is ok. Don’t forget tea, soda, chocolate, and cocoa also have caffeine

Caffeine in coffee affects the baby… but you can drink a limited amount of it. I think that the guideline is about 200mg a day.

Thanks for asking this… I just found out I was pregnant yesterday and absolutely love coffee but have been depriving myself this far. Good to know I can still have a limited amount
