  1. Dwi Says:

I can’t comment much on the text because there’s really not much of it, and the coverage of the entire world of art is, of course, thin in a 176-page book. However, the images are gorgeous, luminous, and at an immense 14″x17″ suitable for framing!

    Highlights, in order of appearrance:

da Vinci: Lady with an Ermine
    Canova: Amor and Psyche Standing
Unknown: Mask of Tutankhamun (front, reverse, face detail)
    Unknown: Apollo of Veii
Mirone: The Discus Thrower (front, side, face detail)
Unknown: The Riace Bronzes (front, reverse, face detail)
Unknown: Venus de Milo (front, side, face detail)
    Unknown: The Galloping Horse
Unknown: The Dying Gaul (front, reverse, side, face detail)
    Giotto: Life of Saint Frances
van Eyck: The Arnolfini Portrait (unfortunately cropped!)
Botticelli: The Allegory of Spring (overall with 3 detail images)
    Mantegna: The Dead Christ
