First, boil water and add about one level tbsp per two cups. Let it sit for a few minutes, and pour thru any strainer. If your dad left any coffee filters those would work fine, suspended over a suitable container. Alternatively you can use just about any thin material like t-shirt. In some parts of the world coffee is made by pouring the hot water thru a reusable cloth sock-like filter. Comes out good’n strong!
    Good Luck!

I had to do this when we lost power for a whole week during an ice storm. I boiled water on a wood stove (you can use a real stove obviously), let it cool a LITTLE, then pour it through a funnel/filter with coffee in it. If you dont have any filters, use a paper towel.

You need something to use as a filter. Put one filterpaper in it, however much coffee you want is next. Then boil some water on the stove. When it boils pour a small amount into your filter, get all the coffee wet. Let it drip down, then repeat the process until you have enough coffee in your cup. It is important to keep the water simmering.
Hope you can find a good filter substitute that doesn’t melt. I keep a camping filter in the cupboard for when the electric is out.

The manual drip filter works well, but I made decent coffee once by boiling a pot of water, putting the coffee directly in the boiled water, and covering it for a few minutes. I then poured it out very carefully and left quite a bit of coffee at the bottom to reduce the amount of grounds I got in my cup. It was good coffee, too.

This sounds gross but it really isn’t…I grew up in Brazil and a lot of the poor people there didn’t have coffee makers so they made a strainer out of a sock. Just put the desired quantity of coffee in a sock, put it in a pot of water with the end hanging over, and bring to a boil. Don’t let the edge of the sock hang on the eye of the stove though- this could cause a fire. Just be sure to use a sock that has never been worn before. Even then I would wash it a few times.

You can buy a jar or can of Instant coffee and just add water and put in the Microwave for about one and one-half minutes.

Get a cup, a coffee filter and ground coffee beans.
Put ground coffee beans in coffee filter, place the filter above the cup, pour HOT water into the filter, enjoy.

    That does sound gross.
Use one of these- they are only a buck or two at any grocery store and you can make yourself cup after cup!!http://www.fantes.com/images/15681coffee…

Use freeze dried coffee powder? :-)
Or just boil it in a pot with the amount of water you want
    Tadah! That’s it
    Good luck!
    Kindest regards
