Do you smell the coffee in your urine and waste? I only drink a cup or two a day and I can smell the coffee when I go to the restroom. I drink Don Francisco’s - that’s not even strong like Folgers. Is this normal?

If you don’t smell coffee when you ‘waste’, then that would not be normal. Since you are able to smell the coffee when you urinate, that means your body is doing a good job of filtering out all the impurities in a timely manner.

no i do not smell coffee when i go to the bathroom,sounds like you have something seriously wrong with you,and i drink folgers,never no coffee smell in my bathroom

I’m not even a regular coffee drinker but get the smell of coffee when I pee when I have just one coffee drink. Even with stuff like lattes. Oddly enough, I like the smell of my pee when it’s been caffeinated.

Totally! I’ve mentioned this to my friends and none of them knew what I was talking about.
I’ve only noticed it in my urine, but for not being a heavy drinker of coffee myself, the odor is pretty pungent. I guess it kind of smells sweet I would say.
But yeah, until I read this question, no one I had mentioned it to ever noticed anything like it.

no, not at all. i drink at least one cup a day, but usually it’s more like 3-6 cups a day. it’s never smelled like that for me.

Yup, that’s normal! Asparagus gives urine an odd odor also. If I remember right it changes the odor of everyones urine, but only certain people have the olfactory receptors to sense it. Strange, huh? Are there any other foods that effect the odor of urine?
