This was the first book I have read by Becky Freeman, and honestly I was not impressed. Although the general concept is great of “categorizing” your friends and understanding how each pulls together to create the quilt of our life. I was very annoyed by the constant bragging done by Mrs. Freeman on her accomplishments and the name dropping of all the friends she has. I felt those elements greatly detracted from the overall message.
I understand that in writing a book concerning friendship and the part each particular friend plays in our life; it could be quite difficult to pull off with stories of the author’s personal friends. Yet, I felt she could have accomplished the concept without the actual names of the people, as well as the locations of varioius arenas in which Mrs. Freeman is able to socialize with her friends. It is difficult for the average American woman to relate to those scenerios and it sounds an awful lot like “look at me and how far I have come and all the well-known friends I have”
Truth be told, had the work not included some great recipes and stories/quotes from other writers I would have definately rated this book lower.
Great concept, horrible way to bring it together.

Becky’s book is such a wonderful combination of wit, wisdom and wonder. After laughing my way through this quick read, I realized that it’s Okay to have different kinds of friends for different seasons of life and different activities. This book is worth the price of admission.
