Coffee Talk

I accidentially bought whole beans rather that the ground coffee and I don’t have a coffee grinder. Would a food chopper work? Any other suggestions?

Its nearly imposable to get it fine enough in a food processor. You might wanna start like that then maybe wrap it up in plastic warp put it in a zip lock and try pounding it with a rolling pin or flat headed meat cleaver or something like that. If you still cannot get it fine enough you can always make a cold pressed ice coffee out of it soak it in cold water stirring occasionally for three or four days and you will have a low acid yummy ice coffee to drink

If you have the store receipt, go back and grind them in the stores grinder. If not, a food chopper will give a coarse grind, not appropriate for coffee makers, but the right grind for a percolator. Hope this helps. (I tried grinding mine in my processor and my blender. Made the coffee weak. (I put a pan under the basket and poured the hot coffee back through, it helped but it didn’t taste as good.)

I tried to do that but it didn’t work well, I finally got a coffee grinder at Walmart for $ 17 or so … it works great and fresh grounded coffee is delicious!
If you use a food chopper, you can use a French press or cold brew the coffee, those are good options if you don’t want to get a grinder

food grinder won’t get the beans fine enough. invest $20 in a coffee grinder….then you can start grinding your own beans as needed….

If your a coffee lover, a coffee grinder could be one of the most satisfying investments you will ever make, once you taste some freshly ground coffee. It is so much better than pre-ground!
